GARDEN CITY, N.Y. April 2026 – Family & Children’s Association (FCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Adhi Sharma to its Board of Trustees.

As President of Mount Sinai South Nassau, Dr. Sharma provides executive oversight of all clinical and nonclinical hospital operations. He has led a $500 million expansion of the hospital and played a key role in advancing healthcare across the South Shore.
“In his role as President of Mount Sinai South Nassau, Dr. Sharma has been a trusted and compassionate leader within the community,” said Board Chair Drew S. Crowley. “We look forward to the perspective he will bring as a member of the FCA board.”
Dr. Sharma is board certified in emergency medicine and medical toxicology and is a recognized leader in hospital-based emergency care. He played a central role in leading Mount Sinai South Nassau’s response to the COVID19 pandemic, guiding the hospital through a rapid expansion of capacity to 500 beds and overseeing care for more than 1,700 COVID19 patients throughout the course of the pandemic.
Dr. Sharma received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, and completed his emergency medicine residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Jacobi/Montefiore Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in medical toxicology at NYU/Bellevue Medical Center and holds a Master of Health Care Administration degree from George Washington University.
Prior to joining Mount Sinai South Nassau, Dr. Sharma served as Chair of Emergency Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he provided clinical leadership and advanced emergency medicine operations.
Dr. Sharma lives in Nassau County with his wife, who is also a physician, and their two sons. He is also a member of the Long Island Association board of directors and has lived on Long Island for more than 25 years.
