Senior Mental Health Awareness Trainings

Increasing the community’s mental health awareness and reducing mental illness stigma is beneficial to improve the quality of life for the senior population.

Our Program

Trained Instructor(s) will provide free evidence-based trainings (including the senior module of Mental Health First Aid) to those who interact regularly with individuals 55 years and older in Nassau County – including but not limited to Direct Care Professionals, Caregivers, First Responders, Clergy, Family/Friends and Community members. Schedule a training at your site or at our FCA headquarters.  Remain in contact with our Instructor for an extra layer of support and resources. Learn about FCA’s suite of senior services.

Understand the impact of mental illness on the senior population as well as how medical conditions can affect senior mental health. Learn to recognize warning signs and be taught an action plan to apply to non-crisis and crisis situations.
