GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – March 26, 2026 — At its 5th Annual Women in Philanthropy breakfast, Family & Children’s Association (FCA) announced an exciting new initiative that reimagines how Long Islanders give back. This year, FCA will transform Giving Tuesday, December 1, into Doing Tuesday with the launch of FCA’s Do Good Games—a hands-on, high-energy community experience designed to turn generosity into action.
For decades, FCA’s Fall Harvest Gala has been a cornerstone of its fundraising efforts. But as the organization shared at the event, FCA has never been about sitting back and watching impact happen.
“We do our best work in the community—hands-on, boots-on-the-ground,” Paige O’Brien, Chief Development Officer & Vice President of Strategic Advancement announced. “And it’s time our biggest event did the same.”
FCA’s Do Good Games reflect a shift in how Long Islanders want to make a difference. Today’s donors want to be part of the action, not spectators on the sidelines. More than a tournament, the Do Good Games are designed to feel like a great night out—energizing, social, and deeply purposeful.
Family & Children’s Association serves more than 35,000 Long Islanders every year, including children in need of safe spaces, seniors seeking connection, families in crisis who need support, and individuals in recovery who need a community that believes in them.
FCA’s Do Good Games invite the entire Long Island community to step directly into that work.
Participants won’t just donate—they’ll do. Teams will pack winter warmth kits for families in need, assemble holiday stockings for children, write encouragement cards for isolated seniors, and engage in friendly competition for the title of FCA’s Do Good Games Champion—all while making a tangible impact in real time.
“This is our way of saying to all of Long Island: come into this work with us,” O’Brien continued. “Don’t just read about it. Don’t just give from afar. Come and feel what it means to help someone.”
Jeffrey Reynolds, President and CEO of Family & Children’s Association, emphasized the significance of the moment: “FCA has been showing up for Long Island since 1884—one hundred and forty years of getting in the room, doing the work, and refusing to let our neighbors struggle alone. FCA’s Do Good Games are the next chapter of that story, and we would love nothing more than to have Long Islanders write it with us.”
