Garden City, N.Y., January 3, 2023 - FCA thanks Rep. Kathleen Rice and Senator Chuck Schumer for securing a $790K federal grant that we will use to launch Senior Safety Net – a mental health program for Long Island’s seniors.
“These dollars couldn’t come at a better time given the mental health issues facing Long Island’s seniors, especially in the wake of COVID,” said Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds, President and Chief Executive Officer of Family and Children’s Association. “We are grateful for Congresswoman Rice’s and Senator Schumer’s tireless efforts to secure these vital funds. The impact of their advocacy and vital work in Congress will last for years to come and we are thankful for their service.”
FCA is a not-for-profit agency helping more than 30,000 Long Islanders each year. For the last 138 years, the organization has worked to protect and strengthen vulnerable children, seniors, families and communities on Long Island.
FCA believes in the potential of Long Island - a place where no child, senior, family or community is left to struggle alone with barriers to health care, education, employment or economic prosperity. Long Island continues to be one of the greatest place in the world to live and raise a family for many; FCA exists to ensure that be the case for all.
