FCA Elects Jared Kasschau to Board of Trustees

GARDEN CITY, N.Y., (September 3, 2021) – FCA, one of Long Island’s oldest and largest not-for-profit organizations, has named Jared Kasschau as the newest member of its Board of Trustees.

Jared is currently a Partner at Harris Beach, PLLC where he draws upon his extensive experience as a litigator in private practice and the public sector, to take on challenges facing organizations, municipal governments and agencies.

Jared’s experience consists of a range of commercial matters, including corporate, commercial real estate and litigation work, partnership disputes and derivative actions, real estate, employment and regulatory and compliance issues. Jared also focuses on the representation of local municipalities and agencies, providing effective counsel in zoning and land-use matters, taxpayer lawsuits, civil rights claims, employment matters, union negotiations and Article 78 proceedings.

He previously served as the Nassau County Attorney where he held the role of Chief Legal Officer for the county, overseeing the work of 55 attorneys, six special investigators and 24 staff spread across five bureaus. Jared and his team represented the county’s interests in numerous large real estate transactions and infrastructure projects, including redevelopment of Nassau Coliseum, the Long Island Railroad’s Third Track Project and the Bay Park Conveyance project.

Jared serves as a board member for the Nassau County Bar Association, WE CARE Advisory Board.  He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.

Jared earned his J.D. at Brooklyn Law School and bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University.

FCA President/CEO Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds said of the recent appointment, “Jared’s varied legal experience and longstanding commitment to Long Island will serve FCA well, especially as we meet the needs of Long Islanders whose lives have been disrupted by COVID. Echoing those sentiments, FCA Board Chair Drew Crowley said, “We feel lucky to have Jared on our team and know that he’ll help FCA grow even stronger in the years to come.”
